Day 64: Thursday, July 9, 2009

So, in case you haven't noticed.  I haven't been blogging very much lately.  It's been a combination of me not taking very many good photos lately (I'm finding it difficult to find good material) and just plain not having the time to devote to photography.  I've had a LOT going on lately.  I'll keep trying my best to find photos opportunities though and will continue posting any good photos I take.  The following ones were taken when I watched the sun go down over the Ohio River yesterday.  I like to try to get things done places other than my room and yesterday that place was the Evansville Riverfront.  I found a great spot and really enjoyed getting things done while witnessing this gorgeous sundown.  I still wasn't too happy with my photos though, including these two.  The only reason I chose these is because they looked kind of creepy, and I think it's neat.  They looked unnatural to begin with, but I admittedly edited them to make them look even more unnatural, but more striking.  So, don't worry, I know they don't look real.  Anyway, enjoy.

2:  This one really was unnaturally blue to begin with, by the way.

Day 63: Tuesday, June 30, 2009

On Tuesday, Ari and I went to the Newburgh waterfront.  We biked (or rather she walked with her "skuut" and I just walked) along the river and then sat down on a bench to eat some snacks.  While we were sitting there, a couple in probably their 50's strolled over to a bench close-by (not pictured here).  Not long after they sat down, the man got on one knee and proposed.  Yes, with just Ari and I as audience.  I waited for a while until they were just talking again (rather than kissing) and then went over and asked if they'd like me to take a picture of them there and then email it to them.  Out of respect for their privacy I decided not to put the picture on the blog.  You can use the picture I DID provide, though, and a little bit of imagination instead.

Day 62: Monday, June 29, 2009

On Monday, Ari and I went to the park.  I don't know that any of these photos are exceptional, but I feel like they really exemplify the joy of being a kid, in summer.

1: For example, this first one, I don't know why I like it.  I really can't explain at all.  But something about her position and facial expression and everything is nice to me.  Also, by the way, I have no idea how to crop most of these ones.

2: Once again, can't explain why I like it, I just do.

3: I can say I like the symmetry on this one.  This is also the only one I could figure out how to crop.

Day 61: Saturday, June 27, 2009

So Saturday I took a road-trip to Kentucky and went kayaking!

1: Just after we got out of the kayaks I saw this gorgeous butterfly (who, granted, was sitting in the not so gorgeous mud) and took it's portrait.

5: Here's the cabin we rented the kayaks from.

I've decided I love Kentucky.

Day 60: Friday, June 26, 2009

This photo is from when Ari was getting ready to go to the "Fancy Nancy" party at the library.  Here she is getting some make-up out of her make-up bag.  For the record, the only make-up I OWN is 2 mascaras (1 waterproof, 1 non), 1 container of blush, 1 blush brush, 2 or 3 eyeliners (had trouble finding one that would work) and....that's it.  The entire bag, below, is Ari's and then some.  To clarify, though, I'm not bitter, I just think it's funny.  I choose to have little makeup.

Moving on, the photos didn't turn out that great and I forgot to bring the camera to the party (so sad!), but I at least liked something about this one, so there ya go.
