I was walking by Matt's office and noticed this oversized dog sitting in his chair. He was getting a lot of work done.
So, today, as on most Saturdays, I went all over town and had quite a few random experiences. I love Saturdays. First, I headed over to this outdoors outfitter called Top Spot because I wanted to rent a bike and I thought either they might do so or they might know of someone who did. Not so unfortunately. Apparently in all of Evansville there's no place to rent a bike. Sad. But I got over the disappointment pretty quickly as there happened to be a small arts fair going on in front of the surrounding shops! A whole bunch of vendors were out with their wares. There were quite a few things that I would have loved to have bought but they were too expensive/I don't have a house, so I didn't. But, I did buy a couple things! I bought a really cute card. Very unique and hard to explain. I also bought what could be used as a wallet or glasses case or something else that was REALLY cute. After that, I decided to try to go to Eagle Slough again. In preparation I stopped by Schnuck's and picked up some strawberries, blueberries, some gouda cheese and some french bread. Last time I tried the road was closed due to high water. Well, before I got there I saw that this flea market that I'd seen signs for was actually up and running! So, despite the fact that my car was already heading the opposite direction on a completely different freeway, I got myself back there and explored! Wow, there is a lot of junk out there. Luckily it wasn't ALL junk and I got myself a purse a bracelet, some "apricot butter," some dried mix for making dips and 3 beanie babies for Ari (3 for $4). Well, I missed the turn off for Eagle Slough and ended up heading down this random road, where I took some pictures. Then I finally made it there (how much has happened to me in my endeavors to get to Eagle Slough in the two combined weekends?). It was both fabulous and horrible! On the one hand, the wildlife was great! I saw several indigo buntings (look it up) and lots of pretty butterflies and dragonflies. On the other hand there were bugs dive-bombing into me the entire time! I intended to make it to the end of the trail, but after a while I just could stand it and basically ran down the trail back to my car. AH! I need to do something about this bug issue of mine. It's an issue for me in so many ways! Anyway, after that I went to the library, then headed home. Here are the photos that correspond with the adventure.

The back of a truck of some guys who asked if my car had broken down when I stopped to take photos after missing the Eagle Slough turnoff. I wish I could have gotten a full on shot of them + the jeep + the 3 dogs. It was a scene with character.
Great Blue Heron and a pretty little pond on the way back to Eagle Slough.
The next few are of dragonflies at eagle slough. Which do you like best?
