Day 32: Saturday, May 23, 2009

I am SO glad to finally be posting these and to be that much closer to catching up!  So, these are the wedding photos, with the exception of the first one, which I took while I was waiting for Shealee and Jacob to come out of the temple.  It's a church across the way.  Anyway, do tell me what you think.

In these first few, Shea is still getting ready.  This one I'm proud of because, without her knowledge, I managed to position her with the temple in the background and get her laughing.  She was pretty surprised when she saw.

 Shea and her sister.

 Shea's brother and nephew.

  Obligatory hands photo.

Really wish that plug and vent weren't there.

  Obligatory bouquet photo.

So do you all like this one or the next one better?  Lighter or darker?

This is an example of one of the manage simple smiling photos I got of them.

And there were several candids that I liked.

This would have been a great photo if Shealee was more in focus.

Lots of Shealee's smiling and laughing photos.

Would have been better if the tree in the background were not there.

Shealee's sexy face, which always leads to...

  Her laughing.

These two are definite favorites of mine.

Would have been a good photo if Angel Moroni were all the way in the photo (for all of you non-lds people, that's the statue at the top of the temple).

This one may seem a bit boring, but I was trying to showcase the back of her dress and I thought it turned out nice.

  This one or 34?

  Good candids.

  1. These are great! Especially for your first professional shoot. I hate to say it, but the only thing you need now is to photoshop them. Put nice effects or lighten them. It's what every prof. photographer does, unfortunately. If you send some to me, I can give it a try. I'm not great at it, but I can give you some examples. Unless, they or you don't want any editing. That's cool too. Great job sis!

  2. Oh, and my favorites are 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16, 21, 26, 27, 29-32, 34, 36, and 39.

  3. Em - thank you again for your exceptionally helpful comments. I absolutely agree about editing them. Up to now, I've focused entirely on honing the skills needed to actually get the great shot, because I already knew she was going to have someone else editing the photos and my main focus up to now has been preparing for her wedding. Now that that's done, I think I will actually try to learn more about editing. I don't have access to photoshop, but Matt and Greta have Aperture, which is essentially the Mac version of Photoshop. I would love to see what you could do with them as well. Are there any in particular you have ideas for?

  4. Sheri, those are great! I'm so thrilled. I wouldn't mind seeing some edited as well. Love ya!
