So, we did it! We kept a baby alive for a whole year! I was pretty excited about that. Harp was excited by all the cake. We ended up having two mini-parties for the birthday girl. The first one was the day before her birthday, with just a few close friends, at Liberty Park (our favorite place). Harp was a bit grumpy, but watching her eat the cake was amazing. She wasn't sure just how to dig in at first, but boy did she find her groove. Witness, below:

She got some pretty awesome gifts from her friends and admirers, including one of these,
a gift card for a yummy local ice cream place, called Maggie Moos (Harp LOVES ice cream), a pretty necklace, a really cute book, a pez dispenser and some pez. Guess what she liked the best?

The PEZ!!
She carried that pez around with her nonstop, for weeks, until it literally all fell apart or got lost. She didn't eat a single piece. She's so weird.
I feel like I never put crying pictures on here and I actually don't want to forget her cute, tragic crying face. |
Her second party was a on her birthday. It was a family party at Tom's parents' house.
She's making this face because she want the cake. |
Then we started singing, so... |
She got happy. |
Destroyed it again.

Let's see if I can remember all the toys she got this time. She got a cute little doll that giggles when squeezed, Dr. Seuss books, a graduated ring stacker, an awesome musical instrument set (from us), a doctor doll that surprised us by singing songs (we had no idea it did that when we bought it), a puzzle (us). She's spoiled.
Last, but not least, I made a video compilation of her entire first year. What I did is, I took all the videos I took of her in her first year, sped them up 8x faster, then edited out parts like crazy to get it down to 10 min. I took so many videos that even after speeding it up, all the videos together were something crazy like 1.5 hrs. Anyway, then I set it to music and voila! Watching it brings back SO many memories for me. Enjoy!
