Day 59: Thursday, June 25, 2009

These were taken last Thursday (so behind, I know).  The YSAs (Young Single Adults) of the area went to Holiday World (amusement/water park in Santa Claus, IN) and on the way home I stopped and took these.  Editing did WONDERS on the last two which were both nearly silhouetted to begin with.

Day 58: Monday, June 22, 2009

We had a bit of a storm last Monday, while I was out shopping.  Directly afterward the sky looked GORGEOUS and there was even a rainbow.  Here are some photos I got of the sky (taken from the Walmart parking lot...).

Man, keeping up a daily blog is tough.  I'm not doing so well lately.  I will be taking a lot of pictures this weekend though (road trip), so that'll be good.  I have some new ideas for what I want to do with this blog, but I'll bring them up after that.  Thanks to everyone who looks at the blog!  I really appreciate it!

Day 56: Saturday, June 20, 2009

1:

On Saturday I went to New Harmony, IN with a friend.  It's this small town with a pretty interesting history.  Look it up.  The ensuing photographs are what follows.

2:  Bridge over the Wabash River.

3: View from the visitor's center.

4: Another view from the visitor's center.

5: Main Street

6: You may think it odd that I included a pictures of some daisies and a fire hydrant, but I just liked the look of it.

7:  I've been trying to get a good picture of the "movement" look, where the object is pretty much in focus, but the surroundings are blurred, making it look like the object is in motion.  Still haven't mastered it...

8: Somehow I always manage to take pictures of flowers.

9:

10: There's something about this picture that I like.  Maybe that it's a tad creepy.

11:  In an effort to overcome my aversion to spiders I've been taking pictures of every one I see.  The idea is that maybe then I'll start to see them as being more beautiful and also that forcing myself to work with them will just get me used to them.

Day 55: Friday, June 19, 2009

So, I wasn't too impressed with any of my photos today, but I DID take some, so here you go.  Audubon State Park (Kentucky being the state).  I'm going out to New Harmony, IN tomorrow though and will hopefully get some good shots there.

Also, one thing I don't like about this photo is that the sky is quite washed out.  If any photographers are reading, do you have any idea how to remedy this, other than a polarizer filter (which I was already using)?

Flickr!

I am now on flickr by the way.  My username is "hailamine" which is Romanian for "come here" or "come to me" or "come with me."  Actually, "hai la mine" is Romanian for those commands.  Just thought I'd let you all know.

Day 54: Thursday, June 18, 2009

Original 1: This, by the way is a view of the bridge that goes over the Ohio river.  Also, i'm standing in Kentucky, even though I'm on the Indiana side of the river.

So, back to editing!

Day 53: Monday, June 15, 2009

I took this photo when I was sitting outside the public library.

Day 52: Sunday, June 14, 2009

1:  This fly was just hopping around on the armrest of the bench I was sitting on in the backyard.

These photos were all taken when I went in the backyard to read for a little while on Sunday.

Day 51: Saturday, June 13, 2009

1:

Sorry that I've been a little lax on posting.  It takes SO long to process all my photos and prepare them for the blog.  And really, it's not just about the blog, it's about the fact that I require myself to process (edit, change the file type and put in the right place) each photo before I put do anything else with it (put it on the blog).  I really try to keep up on that, otherwise it will never happen and I won't be fully utilizing my photos.  Anyway, that's why I'm behind!

On Saturday, I actually got myself to wake up at 5 AM to try to take photos of the Nicholson's garden at sunrise!  Woah.  Unfortunately, because I still don't have my tripod back (don't even get me started) all but the last few were too blurry to be any good.  After that, I spent the day with some friends.  So all my photos on this post are from those two activities.

13:  At my friends' house there are all these little teeny tiny frogs hanging around their pond.

14: Taken when we took a detour from our bike-ride to walk through a wheat field.

15: Another killdeer.  This one was the most dramatic yet, probably because, as you can see, her nest was RIGHT by our car.  Poor thing.  I think she was pretty stressed out by us.

16: Broken wing impression to try to get us away from her babies.
